Alex had a few appointments since I last wrote. Alex got re-tested by P.T. to see where she places. Alexandria placed in the 50% for a 9 month old baby - her adjusted age. This is very good! However over the next year Alex needs to do some catching up. She is doing well and her torticollis is gone. The torticollis only seems to rear its head when Alex is teething. When babies teeth they typically have a growth spurt which can tighten that muscle. We are taking a break from P.T. and will re-test Alex in 3 months to make sure she is not falling behind. With Alexandria's upcoming Mic-Key button surgery she may fall behind some because we will have to be very careful with her for about 2 months after the surgery. The P.T. said this is expected and fine.
Alex had her 1 year check up and shots. She will not be getting the synigis shots this year but she will be getting 2 flu shots. She got her first one yesterday; the 2nd one is due in a month.
I also found out that Alex does not need cardiac anesthesia for the Mic-Key button surgery. She will however have someone there who knows how to handle complicated cases in case something crazy happens while Alex is under. We have an appointment to meet with the anesthesia team on the 19th of this month - same day as the feeding team appointment.
Alexandria's pediatritian told me that keeping up with Alexandria's appointments and all they entail alone is a full time job! He is right...
I posted pics from Alexandria's first bday party - Enjoy!
Thank you so much for praying! We feel your prayers and are thankful for you.
