Here is a picture of Alex and her pigtails - all grown up! She had a good day today; no vomiting. Steve and I worked on finishing up Christmas decorations, catching up around the house and running errands. Of course we didn't get everything done...BUT we only have a few more things to purchase, do and put up and then we are done! We should have it all done within a week. Yayy! Also, we decided to get an artificial tree this year instead of buying a live tree like we normally do. With Alex around an artificial tree will be easier and much more practical to have - no pine needles, no need to water the tree and the ornaments will stay on better. We got a 9 foot tree with 1000 lights already on it! I am really excited about it. To store it all you have to do is fold it up, put it in a storage duffel bag and put it away till next year. It's an investment that over the years will pay for itself and now days the artificial trees are so real look you can't even tell they are fake. We are going to put it up tomorrow and next weekend when we have Nick we will decorate the tree together. Once the tree is up we will put up a play yard gate around the tree so Alex can't get to the ornaments. It will be the same play yard gate we had set up in the living room for Alex to play with its perimeters when Alex was younger and not as mobile. So the baby will be safe, we won't have extra work to do and we can still have a great tree! Oh, and we had to order a safety gate for our fireplace...that's on its way. I am excited to be able to light up our fireplace with Alex in the living room and know she is safe. I wonder what she will think of the fire?! Well, have a great night and thanks again for your prayers.
